The National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology (AIST), one of the largest public research organizations in Japan, focuses on the creation and practical realization of technologies useful to Japanese industry and society, and on “bridging” the gap between innovative technological seeds and commercialization.
AIST Design School cultivates each student’s power of asking “why and what for” to co-create future living in a project based learning approach. Each year, a dynamic mix of researchers, professional engineers, technology experts and business persons are gathered from different organizations. Together they go through an 8 months long collaborative and self-searching learning journey. During the process the students are exposed to diverse methodologies and challenged by different values, in order to transform their mindsets and define problems which are worth solving for society and for themselves.
Together with David Storkholm, Paul has provided the participants with intensive Creative Leadership training modules since 2017.
